In the second part of my Tokyo photo diary, I want to share with you a few memorable moments.
– Ghibli Museum. I have always been a big fan of anime movies, especially the ones Ghibli Studio creates. They make you believe in some unimaginably beautiful world, full of magic, hope and love. I wasn’t sure whether the museum was worth visitting, but now I know it really is. You get to experience that world together with the decorations that remind of Spirited Away, Mononoke, How’s moving Castle or Ponyo.
– Hachiko statue. Don’t think it’s a 20m monument built by a genius. The statue is actually real size, and visually, there is nothing impressive. However, I was eager to visit it, just because that dog who waited 9 years for his owner is a symbol of loyalty and devotion, not only for animals, but also for people.
– Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. The 240m building located in Shinjuku is truly impressive. First of all because i don’t get to see buildings that tall every day, and secondly, because it’s still there after a 9Mw earthquake!! (japanese engineering is unreal!). You can see the whole city from the 45th floor (if i’m not mistaken), and it’s totally free and the cues aren’t long.
