My 3 Festive Makeup looks for Refinery 29.

Happy Monday, babes. Since New Year’s Eve is just around the corner I wanted to share with you 3 festive make-up looks that I created for Refinery29 (see it HERE). So scroll down to see what I’ve put together for you!

look 1 seductive vamp makeup

Who doesn’t want to look like they own the room? The seductive vamp is one of my all time favourite make up styles! It’s one of those looks that fits so many skin and hair colour combinations, and is perfect for evening. Best of all, it doesn’t take much time to do. I’m a big believer in balancing your face by wearing heavy makeup on either your eyes or your lips. Since I wanted to accentuate my lips with a dark ombre look, I went for slight shimmer on the eye followed by a winged black eyeliner and a brown pencil half way along my lower lid.

look 2 parisian smokey blue makeup

The Parisian smokey eye needs a special twist for the holiday season. So instead of staid black, I converted the look into a shade of blue with a late night shine. This look is inspired by Tom Ford’s cream and powder eye colour in Night Sky. Just like the name suggests it has two parts, one is dark and creamy which I use as a base on the eye. The second is a beautiful glitter powder, which I take all the way to my eyebrow and blend in very well. Blending is the key here. Whenever I create a smokey eye I’ll add a wing and black pencil on the inner part of my lower eyelid.

look 1 graphic eyeliner

Graphic eyeliner is everything at the moment. But as much as I love all the creative styles I see on the Internet, the reality is that they’re too complicated for most of us. It’s far better to keep the whole trend minimal and easy to wear. For an ‘evening party’ interpretation, I opted for an empty wing on the outer and inner corners of my eyes. This is the kind of eyeliner that could look great in a metallic, but as I went for a classic black, I decided to go for something special on the lips and added the metallic there instead courtesy of a gold sheen.doina ciobanu new years eve party makeup ideas
