As we’re staying in Phuket, we decided we have to take a tour of the island, to visit the most interesting places around. The first on our list was the “Wat Chalong” temple. I was really stunned by this place. The beautiful architecture, golden details, the breath-taking rooftops and of course the very positive Buddha statues. It is believed that in this glass sarcophagus is a piece of Buddha’s collarbone.
What really impressed me is that buddhist monks have to follow 227, and nuns 311. One of those rules is to never ever in their whole life touch a woman… And i mean literally touch, even while healing them. That is why they use a staff when they cure a woman, interesting, isn’t it??
The rules for visitors are simple:
+ leave the shoes at the entrance
+ be quite
+ wear clothes that cover the shoulders and knees (for women, don’t know about men)
Because of the last rule, I wore this lovely blouse from Romwe, but the heat was killing me!!! Can’t express how happy I was when I found this lovely Thai shirt, which is unbelievably comfortable for such a hot weather.
The favorite dessert in Thailand isn’t chocolate, cookies or candies, but…. Fruits!! After the temple, we went to visit a fruit factory. You can find everything in such places, from nuts to mangos (+not fruits, but still delicious dried fish) After an exhausting, but very interesting day of travelling throughout Phuket, we went back to the hotel and met this baby elephant on the beach. He’s name is Lucky and he’s the super star of this hotel! oh and can you see Lucky’s posing??
